Description:
The Great Mosque of Taza was founded by the Almohads in 1142⁄536 AH to mark their presence in the strategically important region between the Rif and Middle Atlas mountains. Taza was later taken by the Marinids, who immediately made major additions and reconstructions to the Great Mosque.
